2:55pm Friday 30th July 2010

A WORCESTER hostel is improving its IT facilities and saving thousands of pounds in the process.
St Paul’s Hostel for the homeless in Hillborough, Tallow Hill, is benefiting from Malvern firm Resolve IT’s connection with the Charity Technology Exchange (CTX) which allows registered charities to purchase new hardware and software at reduced costs.
As a result, the hostel has saved more than £10,000.
Resolve IT, a specialist in IT and computer support, is helping the hostel replace its existing file servers with new Cisco and Microsoft products at a fraction of the price utilising CTX.
Resolve IT director Tim Winstanley said: “We’ve been working with St Paul’s Hostel since 2007 and introduced them to CTX as an immediate way of utilising their money more efficiently and effectively for the charity’s benefit.
“We’ve also done this with other charities around the region including the young person’s charity Bridge Education Centre in Hanley Swan.”
